We were thrilled, to be commissioned by the team building the innovative Kent & Medway Suicide & Self Harm Prevention Annual Conference, to re-write a 25 minute version of No one Here is Me and deliver it to the delegates.
It was a exciting challenge to condense the performance, from its full 100 minutes, with two actors rather than four, and still deliver an equally powerful performance.
The images in the header are from the event and are of the wonderful Dylan Poirot Canton and Tim Larfield sharing lines from a particularly complex and physical part of the show.
In a large auditorium, with over 100 delegates and no microphones for the actors, we weren’t too sure how well we were going to be heard at the back. And when Sarah Winn, the creator and director of No one Here is Me introduced the piece, she had to project really well to get everyone’s attention.
However, the moment the piece started, with Gar’s guitar playing, you could here a pin drop. The hall was eerily still and the audience transfixed by this incredibly powerful story.
The No one Here is Me team all took part in the post performance discussion and it was clear from the questions that many of the delegates had been personally moved by what they had experienced.
